Preferred Health Care has a wide range of non-medical services to meet your specific health care needs and all activities of daily living. We offer personal care, homemaking and companionship delivered by Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Home Health Aides and companions. In addition, upon your request, Registered Nurses and other licensed professionals will be made available to support your needs.
After you are established as a client, the referral process starts immediately. Our staff begins scheduling efforts on your behalf. The goal is to initiate service within 24 to 48 hours.
When the office is closed, the opportunity to talk with a staff member is available to you. A duty on-call person will respond to your questions and concerns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Preferred Health Care takes responsibility for all components of the process which gives you peace of mind. If you choose to hire a caregiver privately, you become accountable for: We do not recommend hiring privately, since many problems tend to arise.
Yes. We do not require you to “need” care for any designated amount of time. Our local office will work with you to create a plan of care specific to your individual needs. A 48 hour cancellation notice is all that is required when services are no longer needed.
Yes. We provide services to people at care facilities who desire individualized personal care and companionship.
No. We are a private non-Medicare or Medicaid certified agency. Preferred Health Care is a privately held company that subcontracts with Medicare agencies. We will attempt to help you utilize public funding you may have before you are charged for our services.
Yes. We do enter into a contract with our clients, but only with a financial agreement stating our rates, terms and conditions for payment. We are here to meet your needs and understand that as the client’s needs change, so does your service.

The fee covers your caregiver’s wages, all wage taxes and appropriate insurance. There is an additional cost for needed supplies.
No. The fee is inclusive. The only possible additional cost that might occur is the cost of gasoline when you ask your caregiver to run errands in their vehicle.
No. Preferred Health Care Services is responsible for screening, hiring, managing and scheduling the caregivers. We have many years of experience in this area. Our initial evaluation with the client and family will help to develop a profile of the type of caregiver you need and want.
Yes. Our clients can help select the caregiver. We discuss the selection process during our in-home visit.
Preferred Health Care Services utilizes a caregiver team approach. If one caregiver is sick, another one is typically available.
All caregivers must successfully complete a thorough reference and criminal background check. Each caregiver is bonded and insured. All Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Home Health Aides are licensed by the Department of Public Health Nurse Aide registry.
